This Privacy Policy (the “Policy”) describes how the Inter-American Development Bank (also referred to herein as “IDB,” “us” or “we”) handles information collected from users of the Green Bonds Transparency Platform, located at https://greenbondtransparency.com (the “Site”). The Policy explains how we will collect, use, store and share information we obtain about you as a user of the Site (“User”), including information that is identifiable to you (your “Personal Data”).
We may update this Policy at any time. Any changes to the Policy will become effective upon the date of our posting of the revised Policy on the Site. If you visit the Site following the effective date of the revised Policy, you will be deemed to have accepted the Policy’s updated terms.
I. What Information Does the IDB Collect About You?
The information we collect about you when you use the Site includes Personal Data that you affirmatively submit to us, as well as information that the Site automatically collects when your computer or other device connects to the Site, which generally is not Personal Data but will be treated as Personal Data if we link it to the Personal Data we have otherwise collected from or about you.
To register on the Site as representative of a green bonds issuer or as an external reviewer, you will need to provide your email address, organizational affiliation, and organization headquarters address, and to create a Site login name and password.
Whether you register or just visit the Site, we will automatically collect certain information about your visit through browser navigational tools, such as cookies. Cookies are small data files that a website places on the hard drive of the device through which a visitor connects to the website. By using cookies, we can identify the IP (Internet Protocol) address of the computer that you use to access the Site and recognize when you visit the Site and the places you navigate to on the Site. If you register on the Site, the IDB may set a cookie that will remember your device the next time you visit the Site so that you can navigate the Site more readily.
You can set your browser to accept all cookies, to reject all cookies, or to notify you whenever a cookie is offered so that you can decide each time whether to accept it. However, refusing a cookie may in some cases preclude you from using, or negatively affect the display or function of, the Site or certain areas or features of the Site. In addition, IDB uses browser navigational tools to compile statistics about the daily number of visitors to our Site or specific Site pages, and to identify a webpage you may have visited before visiting the Site.

As explained in the Site’s Terms and Conditions [link], the Site is an interactive website and the Personal Data posted by Users on the Site, with the exception of the information a User provides solely for registration purposes, may be accessed by other Users.
If we use other organizations to provide support services related to the Site, we may share with them the information collected from Users, including Personal Data, subject to the organizations’ agreement to restrict their use if the information to what is necessary to perform their services and to keep it confidential. In addition, we may share User information as we believe to be appropriate in the following circumstances: (i) to enforce the terms and conditions for use of the Site, including this Policy; (ii) to protect and defend our rights and property; (iii) to protect the interests of the IDB or others, consistent with the Agreement Establishing the Inter-American Development Bank; and (iv) to permit us to pursue available remedies or limit the damages that we may sustain.
In the event the IDB decides to assign the Site to a third party, we may transfer your Personal Data as part of the transaction. The IDB will use reasonable efforts to assure that your Personal Data will remain subject to the same types of protection as it was prior to the transfer. However, once your Personal Data is transferred in such a transaction, it will no longer be subject to this Privacy Policy, and you will need to review the policies and practices provided on the Site by the party to whom the Site has been assigned to learn about the protection then accorded to the Personal Data.

The IDB has data servers in many different national jurisdictions. By using the Site, you are deemed to understand and unambiguously consent to the processing of the information collected about you through the Site in any jurisdiction, including but not limited to the United States.

We will endeavor to respond to your request as soon as reasonably practicable, and to implement the changes you have requested, subject to operational, recordkeeping, or legal constraints. For your protection, we will only implement changes with respect to the Personal Data associated with the particular email address that you use to send us your request, and we may ask you for additional information to verify your identity before implementing any changes.
Please note that even if we remove your Personal Data in response to your request, there may be residual information that will remain within our databases and other records, which will not be removed, as the Site uses tools such as blockchain technology. In addition, we cannot control the use or retransmission of Personal Data that has already been accessed by another User of the Website, if any.

The Site may contain links to websites operated by parties not affiliated with the IDB. These linked websites are not under the IDB’s control and we are not responsible for the privacy practices or the contents of any such unaffiliated parties or their websites. We recommend that you familiarize yourself with the privacy policies and practices of any such third parties.
VIII. Privileges and Immunities.
Nothing on the Site or in this Privacy Policy shall operate or be regarded as a waiver, renunciation or modification of any right, privilege or immunity of IDB pursuant to the Agreement Establishing the Inter-American Development Bank, international conventions or any other applicable laws.
